Ribbon Cutting at Salvation Army's New Family Store

On Friday, August 29, at 8:30 a.m., the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce will

host a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the Grand Opening of the The Salvation

Army’s new Family Store located at 3719 Clemson Boulevard (beside Tractor Supply)

in Anderson.  Festivities will include refreshments, door prizes, drawings every thirty

minutes all day long, and Ben Phillips - Master of Ceremonies with "Just Call Ben"

will be entertaining the crowd in the morning.  Door prizes will include Hallmark

merchandise and Gift Certificates for the Family Store. The Family Store operation distributes clothing and house hold items

through The Salvation Army Social Service department and sells the remaining donated goods received

from the community. All of the proceeds help to fund the organization’s life-changing

programs, such as The Salvation Army Stringer Emergency Lodge (a working shelter for

persons to have a safe place to stay while they work to get back on their feet), The

Salvation Army finical social services and will help to support The Salvation Army Boys &

Girls Clubs of Anderson County.  Over 13,000 people were served by The Salvation Army

in Anderson County last year and this will allow for even more in years to come!
