SUMMARY:Palate to Palette
DESCRIPTION:Anderson Arts Center to Host Wine Dinner Celebrating \n\nPermanent Collection of Art Work\n\n \n\nThe Anderson Arts Center will host Palate to Palette\, a five-course wine paring dining experience on January 23 at 6:30 p.m. to celebrate the Permanent Collection exhibit available for viewing January 13-February 6. \n\n \n\nThe permanent collection of artwork includes pieces donated to the Arts Center\; items that have been purchased by the Arts Center\; as well as artwork that has been purchased on behalf of the Arts Center through events like the annual juried show. The permanent collection of art includes work obtained by the Arts Center over the span of nearly 50 years. \n\n \n\n"We're excited to kick off the new decade by celebrating the wonderful art work from the past\," said April Cameron\, executive director of the Anderson Arts Center. "And while we are enjoying reminiscing on the past\, we get to enter 2020 with a new event for us\, a wine dinner."\n\n \n\nThe event will include a five-course meal\, and each course is paired with the appropriate wine. To combine the "permanent collection" theme\, all wines have been carefully selected as wines that one should keep in their wine cabinet on a permanent basis as well. \n\n \n\n"These are great wines you should always have on hand\," said Brandon Grace\, of Southern Wine & Spirits.\n\n \n\nThe caterer for the event is Friends Farm & Catering\, operated by Val Lowe and Katie Tillman. Both Lowe and Tillman are artists\, and there is work from Lowe in the Arts Center's permanent collection\, as well. \n\n \n\n"I can't think of a more fitting caterer for this event than someone who actually has artwork in our collection\," said Cameron. "It just brings everything full circle."\n\n \n\nThe event will be held at the Arts Center at 110 Federal Street in Anderson. Individual tickets to Palate to Palette are $75 per person\, or a reserved table for eight is $550. Tickets can be purchased at www.AndersonArts.org or by calling 864.222.2787.
