DESCRIPTION:The Anderson County Library System will host its Third Annual Electric City ComiCon \n\n Saturday\, August 5\, 2017 10am to 5pm at the Main Library\, 300 N. McDuffie St. in Anderson\n\n The event features Young Adult authors\; comic artists\; local authors\, vendors\, and artisans\; cosplayers\; and fun for all ages\n\nThis year's keynote session is at 3:45pm\, featuring special guest and Marvel artist Sanford Greene\, best known for his work on Marvel's Power Man and Iron Fist series\n\nJoining him for a panel at 1pm is Squirrel Girl and Spider Gwen colorist Rico Renzi\, and local artist for the Flintlock books\, Anthony Summey\n\nYoung adult authors Ryan Graudin (Wolf By Wolf)\, Megan Spooner (Hunted)\, and Alexandra Duncan (Blight) will talk about their adventures in writing that morning at 11am\n\nTheir books will be available for purchase and signing\n\nAt 10:30am and 12:30pm\, the Con will feature LightSpeed Demos\n\nThe morning demonstrations will include Cosplay with Jo-Ann Fabric\, a Mini Robot Art Session with J. Chris Campbell\, and a discussion of An Abridged History of Anime with Dustin Kopplin\n\nAfternoon demos feature Cosplay with Jo-Ann Fabric\, Hero Training with Heroes in Force\, and Anime through Space and Time with Dustin Kopplin\n\nAll-day features include a Vendor and Artist Alley\, the Empire Games Gaming Corner with the newest table top games\, free green screen photo booth\, children's crafts\, and a display of fan art that attendees can vote on\n\nColorful characters will be wandering around the Con\, in preparation for the Cosplay Contest\, open to all\, at 2:30pm \n\nThe Con encourages all to dress-up \n\nTo be part of the contest\, you must register earlier that day\, either as an individual or a group\n\nHand-made costumes are strongly encouraged for teens and adults\n\nFood trucks will be parked out front from 11am to 2pm to keep the con-goers going\n\nFor more information\, please go to our website at www.andersonlibrary.org\, email electriccitycomicon@andersonlibrary.org\, or call Brianna McDonell at 864.260.4500 ext 103
